The design experts at Center Island Contracting are always up on the latest trends when it comes to home design for your home renovations and new home construction projects. As we near the end yet another successful year, we’re proud of the work we’ve done in 2019 and have our sights set on 2020.
A new year means a clean slate, which means it could be the year you finally complete those home renovations you’ve been dreaming about for years. Predictions for 2020 design trends have been made and we expect to see a lot of them in the projects we do this upcoming year.
Courtney Hill Fertitta of Courtney Hill Interiors told Elle Decor she predicts dark, rich colors for interior doors will be a design trend in 2020. “Painting an interior door in a rich color adds warmth and character to the space,” she explained. “Paired with great hardware, a dark door can provide an artistic element for the room. The personality exemplified by the color can be as fun as the stories of the people who walk through the door!”
Lauren Buxbaum Gordon of Nate Berkus Associates also told Elle Decor she predicts to see a lot of mixture between old and new pieces. “Our clients are over the ‘one-stop-shop’ design resources and are taking the design of their homes to the next level by getting comfortable with mixing and matching old and new and even purchasing locally made souvenirs while on their travels to help tell the story of who they are,” she said.
We might even see an uptick in homeowners requesting a formal dining room, which was bumped down the priority list in recent years. Houzz predicts homeowners will want to take risks in the formal dining room, perhaps with bold colors, to experiment in ways they wouldn’t in other rooms.
As we approach 2020, we will be on the lookout for these trends and more! Which design trend are you looking forward to using next year?
